Easy and faster way to allow windows 7 or vista to detect folder icon changes

An alternative to the traditional “Always show icons, never thumbnails” to allow windows to update the icon cache is to change the folder view to “List view” and then back to “large icons”.
Old method:
In explorer window, click on “organize” then “folder and search options” then “view” and check “always show icons, never thumbnails”
New method:
change folder view to “List”
allow folder icons to update and then revert back to “large icons”
This works well for most folders. I use the ZIA app in “list view.”
