Here is the EASIEST way to make icons for your folders- music, videos, etc. –the ZIA way!

UPDATE [Nov 20, 2009]: new version is 1.1.1 which fixed a bug that prevented the last processed folder to be moved while ZIA was open.

Drag and drop folders in to ZIA and ZIA will automatically convert and set the first image file (JPG or PNG) as the folder icon. The icons aren’t linked to your computer so they will always stay even when you move the folders to external devices i.e. USB stick.

You can use ZIA to process folder containing anything- all you need is at least one image in the folder.

NOTE for Vista/Windows 7 users:

These operating systems are strange when it comes to properly updating folder icons. This can be corrected easily by going to your explorer windows and clicking on “Organize” in the upper left hand side. Then choose “folder and search options” and click on the “view” tab. Check the box “Always show icons, never thumbnails”

You may revert back to thumbnails after vista/win7 “recognizes” the changes.

NOTE: if the program stalls processing on a certain folder: the problem might be that image being used from that folder might be corrupt or that you might have used “cut and paste” during the operation of ZIA. Solutions include: deleting the corrupt image and avoid using cutting and pasting during the operation of ZIA.
